Three ruthenium catalysts have been prepared by impregnation of ruthenium carbonyl([HRu3 (CO)11]-), ketenylidene([PPN]2[Ru3(CO)9(CCO)]) and carbide (Ru6C(CO)17) clusters on SiO2 gel, and their catalytic performance in CO hydrogenation was investigated.
