A novel ruthenium complex RuCl_2P(C_6H_5)_3_2-(R,R)-DPEN (DPEN=1,2-diphenylethylene- diamine) was synthesized and characterized by 1H and 31 P NMR. The ruthenium complex was applied to the asymmetric hydrogenation of acetonaphthone.
